Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU)

To give patients and their carers the flexibility to arrange their follow-up appointments as and when they need them, the Regional Immunology Allergy Service is rolling out Patient Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) for eligible patients.

The purpose of PIFU is to allow you to access clinical review when and if you need to, rather than booking a pre-arranged scheduled review appointment. 

PIFU puts you in control as you can contact the Immunology Service to arrange a follow-up appointment if you have any worries or concerns, rather than having to wait for a pre-arranged clinic visit.

PIFU may not be suitable for everyone, but your Clinician will discuss your condition with you to assess whether or not this is suitable for you.

The PIFU pathway is currently available for patients on omalizumb or sublingual allergy desensitisation treatments (e.g. grazax, acarizax)
